Katharine House Hospice’s Tractor Run

Katharine House Hospice works in partnership with RC Baker, who put on a Christmas Tractor Run each year in support of the Hospice. They used Text Giving as a quick and easy donation option.

The Challenge

Christmas ‘Tractor Run’

Each year, a family run business called RC Baker put on the Christmas Tractor Run, where local farmers deck out their tractors in festive lights, raising thousands of pounds for the hospice.

In previous years the hospice has provided bucket collectors, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic they needed alternative ways for supporters to donate.

The Solution

Online giving options

With the event being so touch and go, Katharine House had to quickly sort ways for people to donate late in the day.

They utilised both Text Giving, where supporters could text TRACTORLIGHTS to their dedicated shortcode to donate a set amount of £5, and Text Raffle to replace previous years’ ‘on the night’ ticketed raffle.
