Strictly Northampton

Cynthia Spencer Hospice used Text Giving as a voting system for the Strictly Northampton dance competition.

The Challenge

Vote system needed for dance competition

Strictly Northampton is a fundraising dance competition in aid of Cynthia Spencer Hospice. The event takes inspiration from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Contestants from the local area are paired with dance students from the local Step by Step Dance School. They have 8 Sundays to learn their routine before performing live.

The Solution

Vote and donate via Text Giving

The winners of the competition were selected based on a combination of audience votes and the judges’ scores.

A Text Giving keyword was registered for each couple, with the audience able to text to vote for their favourite act, whilst donating to the hospice. This provided engagement with the event, as well as raising funds.

“Donr text voting really helped our Strictly event to run smoothly, popping the text codes into our programme on the night meant the audience could very easily vote for the couple they wanted to win. It was so easy to keep a track of the leader board.
