Creating your Giving Page

To create a Giving Page, you first need to log into the Donr Dashboard, or register with Donr if your charity is not already signed up.

Select 'Giving Pages' from the menu on the left hand side, then choose create new. There is a bit more guidance on each step of the process below.

Step 1: Select a template

We have selection of templates available to edit, you can see preview images of each template. Choose the template that works best for your campaign, click 'Select Template' and then 'Next'.

Top tip - we've mocked up pages in the style of different charities. However, each page is fully customisable, so feel free to choose any template!

Step 2: Charity details

Add details on your charity as follows:

Charity name This will appear on your page, so add the name that your supporters know you as.
Logo  Upload your logo in a png, jpeg or gif format.
Campaign colour Choose your charity's brand colour. You can either use the colour picker or copy and paste your hex code.

Top tip: landscape images work better with our Giving Pages than portraits. If any of your images are being cut off when you upload them to this page, try opening up your word processing software (MS Word or similar) and pasting your image into that document. Take a screenshot of the image and leave plenty of blank white space around it, then upload the screenshot image to your Donr Giving Page – you should find that you are then able to see the full image on your Giving Page.

Step 3: Campaign details

Complete the information as follows:

Campaign name This is only seen internally, so name your campaign something that works for you.
Domain  A bespoke URL of charityname.donr.com will automatically be generated for you, so your supporters know the page is authentically yours. You can create multiple Giving Pages but your domain will always remain the same. Contact us if you would like a different domain.
Path The 'path' is the set of characters that appear after the '/' in the URL of your Giving Page i.e. in www.donr.com/knowledge, the domain is 'www.donr.com' and the path is 'knowledge' – we suggest using the title of your Giving Page as the path. Please don't include any spaces between words in the path.
Full URL to promote to supporters This will automatically populate based on your domain and path.
Thank you page You can add a link to a page of your website that you would like your supporters to see after making a donation.

Top tip - If your thank you page is a dedicated page to thank supporters, then tick the 'automatically redirect to a dedicated thank you page' checkbox. If your thank you page is a generic page like your homepage, then don't tick this box.

Step 5: Tell us about your campaign

This information is non-binding, but completing it accurately enables us to send you useful guidance about your campaign.

Step 6: Final edits

You will now be taken to your page, where you can tweak any final details like information and images before your campaign goes live. Remember to use the top tip from Step 2 when uploading images!

Select 'test mode' to test out the experience that supporters will have on your page. In this mode, you can make test payments. When making a test payment, ensure that you are using UK-registered Stripe test card numbers, which you can find here. If you try to use an actual credit or debit card, the test will not work.

Top tip: on this page you can also download a QR code for your campaign!

To enter 'test mode' at any point, simply click the three dots next to the campaign, select edit, and ensure you have switched from 'live' into 'test mode'.
