Quick Answer
If the credit card a supporter used to set up a regular donation via your Donr Appeal Page expires, their donation should still continue, despite the physical card they used to set the regular donation up expiring (yay!).

A supporter’s regular donation may well continue after their physical card has expired because Stripe, our third-party card payment processor, uses a technology that allows it to ‘save’ card details. Stripe does this by working closely with card networks (Visa, Mastercard etc) so the supporter does not need to worry about cancelling their current recurring donation and setting up a new one with their new credit card details – Stripe will attempt to automatically update them for you, in collaboration with your card network.
Unfortunately, Stripe cannot guarantee that this technology will work 100% of the time – it is dependent on the card network which issued the card and their relationship with Stripe.
If a supporter wishes to cancel or amend their regular donation made via a Donr Appeal Page, they should email hello@donr.com with the following information:
- The email address used to set up the regular donation
- The charity they are donating to
- Their regular donation amount
- Their regular billing date
- Instructions for cancellation/amendment
