One of Stirling Young Carers Service’s supporters ran a half marathon from Loch Tay to Ben Lawers, raising nearly two thousand pounds for the service!
Stirling Young Carers Service, part of Stirling Carers Centre, supports children aged 7-17 who care for a family member with a long term health condition, disability, mental health condition or addiction. When supporter Angela decided to run a half marathon to support their service, she needed a Giving Page to share with friends and family to raise money.
The Giving Page gave five donation options as well as an option to choose your donation amount. To encourage supporters to give, each donation option outlined what it would cover the cost of. The Giving Page was promoted by both Angela, and Stirling Carers Centre itself, reaching a wide audience and raising over one and a half thousand pounds!
“Donr allowed us to quickly establish a Giving Page to facilitate collecting sponsorship for Angela’s Run. We feel that having a page that allowed us to outline how the donation would help support Young Carers really helped to boost donation amounts.QR codes that allowed people to donate set amounts, alongside text giving and easy to share links, also made it a straightforward process to promote the campaign and for people to donate quickly. We’ve been extremely pleased with how well Donr met our needs and helped to give us this funding boost.”
The fundraiser raised nearly two thousand pounds through their dedicated Giving Page.
Angela ran a half marathon from Loch Tay to Ben Lawers which reaches almost 4,000 feet.
75 supporters came together to support Angela in her incredible feat, and support the service.
Using a Giving Page allows supporters to mobilise their own social circles, raising money from a broader pool of donors.
