Donr is delighted to have once again powered the online donations for BBC Children in Need’s annual Appeal. The Appeal is one of the UK’s largest fundraising events, and each year tens of millions of pounds are raised, helping to improve the lives of children and young people facing disadvantage in communities across the UK.
The charity’s 2021 Appeal saw some incredible fundraising challenges, including Owain Wyn Evans’ 24 hour Drumathon, The Surprise Squad, and the return of the Rickshaw Challenge with Matt Baker.
Online supporters were asked to donate at donate.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk. Donr processed over £11.3 million of donations in total for BBC Children in Need, with up to tens of thousands of people donating across multiple platforms during the televised Appeal night.
BBC Children in Need have used a bespoke version of Donr’s Giving Pages solution since 2020. This robust, secure and scalable solution has enabled donors to donate millions of pounds to BBC Children in Need by credit/debit card, ApplePay, GooglePay and PayPal.
